ASX Settlement is the sole provider of settlement services for Australia’s equity markets. It conducts settlement through CHESS, which records securities ownership electronically, automatically settles equity trades two business days after trading, transfers funds and ownership simultaneously through delivery versus payment, and nets settlement obligations. ASX Settlement is a licensed clearing and settlement facility regulated by the RBA and ASIC and operates under applicable financial stability standards, legislation, rules, and a Code of Practice.
