Chainlink VRF V1 was Chainlink’s verifiable-randomness service for smart contracts, generating random values with cryptographic proofs verified onchain.
Chainlink VRF V1 (Verifiable Random Function) provided provably fair, tamper-proof randomness to smart contracts. Each request generated a random value and cryptographic proof, which was published and verified onchain before use. Chainlink officially deprecated VRF V1 and replaced it with VRF V2.5 on November 29, 2024.
