DAOstar began as DAOstar One, a private, professionally moderated monthly roundtable of representatives from major organizations across the DAO ecosystem—including infrastructure providers and governance platforms—convened to develop interoperable standards and shared language for DAOs rather than compete on fragmented, closed standards. That collaborative foundation evolved into today's DAOstar, which continues to support standards development (such as DAO ID), administers OpenGrants, and conducts cutting-edge research on DAO governance, security, and ecosystem development through initiatives like DAO Science and Cryptoeconomic Systems. As a public-goods-focused organization, DAOstar serves the broader DAO ecosystem—builders, researchers, and DAO enthusiasts—by creating open resources, research platforms, and educational initiatives, and it regularly hosts community calls for people building or researching DAOs, digital governance, or organizational behavior.
