DeSciWorld positions itself as a hub for the decentralized science (DeSci) movement, describing itself as a community of individuals united by a mission since 2021 to build the next evolution of research that is onchain, unstoppable and powered by cutting-edge technology. The team spans scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, economists and engineers from across four continents, reflecting the global and interdisciplinary nature of DeSci. The platform currently offers a repository of DeSci projects, an aggregation of online and in-person events, and a jobs board featuring opportunities from trusted partners, with additional features such as a DeSci map, an NFT launchpad/marketplace, a science.tech tools repository powered by a 'Proof of Knowledge' protocol, and a peer-to-peer funding marketplace listed as coming soon. DeSciWorld also runs the flagship 'World of DeSci' conference series and supports dozens of local grassroots DeSci communities globally (e.g. DeSci Asia, Berlin, Boston, China, India, Japan, Korea, LATAM, London, Mexico, Montreal, Prague, Sino, Tokyo, Africa, and IberoAM), aiming to increase diversity of participation in the academic and research process.
