Description
Dymension is a Layer 1 blockchain built on Cosmos SDK with Tendermint consensus, functioning as a settlement layer for application-specific rollups called RollApps. The protocol embeds rollup-servicing logic directly into the settlement layer rather than through external smart contract bridges, providing RollApps with shared security, liquidity, and cross-chain connectivity via IBC. An embedded AMM handles token swaps and liquidity bootstrapping, an Initial RollApp Offerings (IRO) mechanism allows creators to launch tokens on customizable bonding curves before their rollup goes live, and eIBC enables fast cross-chain withdrawals by bypassing the standard dispute period. RollApps support EVM and CosmWasm execution environments and use on-demand block production to reduce operating costs.
