ICON's General Message Passing (GMP), also known as xCall, abstracts the differing technical architectures of underlying cross-chain protocols. It supports BTP and IBC, provides extensibility and composable verification, and includes documentation for building cross-chain dApps, sending messages, understanding message lifecycles and fees, and using example applications. The linked documentation is legacy ICON documentation and is deprecated and no longer maintained.
