Alberta Innovates solves some of the province's biggest challenges by supporting research and the growth of business, helping the startup community build new technology and drive new ideas. It offers a range of grant funding programs targeted to different sectors and development stages, along with coaching and support through Technology Development Advisors (TDAs) and Regional Innovation Networks (RINs) that provide one-on-one guidance and community connections. Through its two subsidiaries, InnoTech Alberta and C-FER Technologies, it provides applied research, facilities, and testing that bridge research with government and industry needs. The organization serves small to medium enterprises, post-secondary researchers and students, and public entities and not-for-profits, providing non-dilutive funding and support across all economic sectors in Alberta, with current focus areas including health and life sciences, AI, defence, aerospace, and agri-food.
