Description
Keep the Meter Running is a weekly video series on Mad Realities' streaming platform, co-created with New York comedian Kareem Rahma. In each episode, Rahma gets into a Yellow Cab and asks the driver to take him to their favorite spot in the city, paying to keep the taxi meter running while they hang out there. Described on the show page as "Anthony Bourdain with New York's forgotten taxi drivers," it profiles the city through the eyes of its taxi drivers. Season 1 consists of at least seven episodes, each centered on a different driver and location, including Dera in Jackson Heights with Abdul, an Indian deli in Chelsea with JJ, Buffalo Wild Wings in College Point with Vinnie, Little Morocco in Astoria with Ali, Papaye Restaurant in the Bronx with George, Tony's Di Napoli on the Upper East Side with Leton, and Al Masar in London with Tony.
