Kurtosis is an open-source development environment engine designed for blockchain infrastructure, catering to protocol, platform, and DevOps teams. It functions similarly to Docker Compose but is specifically tailored for blockchain environments. The platform features a Package Catalog with pre-built blockchain packages, such as for Ethereum, Polygon CDK, Blockscout, and World Chain, which help users kickstart their development and testing workflows. Users can also create and distribute their own packages. The project was initially developed by Kurtosis Technologies and was open-sourced in June 2024 under the Apache 2.0 License. It is now maintained by a community of contributors.
