Description
MetaPass is a DID (decentralized identity) based mobile employee ID and access control service developed by CPLABS that replaces traditional plastic ID/access cards. It enables privacy-protecting, non-face-to-face identity verification, gate and NFC-reader based building access, and 2FA (two-factor authentication) login to corporate groupware. Beyond core identity and access functions, MetaPass supports extended services such as library book lending via NFC tagging, education/training attendance tracking, and point-of-sale payments linked to the mobile ID. It has won South Korea's 8th SW Product Quality Grand Prize, was selected as an Innovative Prototype/Excellent Product by the Public Procurement Service (the first blockchain product to receive this), and achieved TTA GS (Good Software) Grade 1 certification. MetaPass has been deployed in public sector and enterprise settings including KISA's mobile employee ID, Busan TP's CENTAP mobile access pass (via the B PASS Busan blockchain integrated service), the Government Employees Pension Service's digital employee ID, KIBO's digital employee ID, and B PASS employee IDs for Busan-affiliated public institutions.
