Plural Money for Edge City was a 2024 RadicalxChange project conducted at Edge Esmeralda in California and Edge City Lanna in Thailand. It piloted a community currency system that made exchange into universal currencies costly, aiming to reduce local value extraction and support local circulation. RadicalxChange provided the Plural Money framework, open-source ∈dges application infrastructure, and facilitation and operational support. The pilots tested trust pools and exit taxes, then introduced ∈dge markets and fiscal stimulus to improve the currency’s utility and value for participants.
