Description
The Protocol Development Fund is a grant program managed by the Canton Foundation to support development and maintenance of shared Canton Network infrastructure. Funded by 5% of future Canton Coin emissions allocated proportionally across all reward streams, the program distributes Canton Coin grants on a milestone-based, quarterly schedule. Eligible work includes core protocol research, developer tooling, security audits, reference implementations, and DeFi liquidity seeding. Proposals are submitted through a public GitHub repository and reviewed by the Tech & Ops Committee on merit and alignment with network needs.
