RightfulShare is a South African initiative founded by Karen Jooste that launched the country first crypto universal basic income pilot in February 2023, in partnership with GoodDollar. Beneficiaries in a small rural community received a monthly digital basic income in G$ for one year. The organization is a member of the Universal Basic Income Coalition in South Africa (UBIC) and remains active as of 2025; its official website rightfulshare.org is currently unavailable.
