Wit Oracle provides decentralized oracle services for smart contracts across multiple blockchain networks, implementing data retrieval through randomly selected validator nodes that fetch information from external sources, aggregate results using consensus algorithms, and deliver tamper-resistant data to requesting contracts. The oracle supports various use cases including HTTP GET/POST requests to web APIs, GraphQL query execution, price feed aggregation from multiple sources, and verifiable random number generation through cryptographic commitments. Smart contracts pay WIT tokens to request data, with costs determined by replication factor, data source complexity, and required security parameters while validators compete to fulfill requests based on their reputation scores and staked collateral.
