TACo

TACo (Threshold Access Control) is a free and open-source cryptographic public-good project for condition-based, end-to-end encrypted data sharing. It provides developers with APIs and an SDK to apply programmable access controls without centralized data custodians or single points of failure.

Description

TACo is threshold access-control infrastructure managed by the World Ethical Data Foundation. Application developers can integrate its TypeScript/JavaScript SDK to encrypt data, define programmable on-chain and off-chain access conditions, authenticate requestors, and have independently controlled nodes collectively provide decryption material when conditions are met. It is intended for privacy-preserving Web3 applications and use cases such as decentralized social networks, storage and databases, AI workflows, sensitive-data sharing, and access-controlled signing.
