Hemi uses a dual-layer design comprising the Hemi Virtual Machine (hVM), which pairs a Bitcoin node with an EVM runtime, and the Hemi Bitcoin Kit (hBK), which lets Solidity contracts verify Bitcoin state including UTXOs and block headers. Transactions are anchored to Bitcoin via Proof-of-Proof consensus without relying on wrapped assets or bridges. Developers can deploy Bitcoin-aware smart contracts, and institutions can allocate native BTC into compliant on-chain yield strategies.
