Light Protocol builds Solana infrastructure and APIs centered on ZK Compression, an open-source technology designed to reduce the cost of scaling payments, privacy applications, tokens, and program-derived addresses on Solana. The organization has built high-performance Solana programs since 2021 and launched ZK Compression in 2024 with Helius Labs and the Solana Foundation. Light Protocol is joining Helius to scale ZK and privacy infrastructure for developers worldwide; its documentation, RPCs, and core tooling are stated to continue without interruption.
