nBTC is created by the Nomic protocol only after it verifies that BTC has entered Nomic’s decentralized custody reserves. Each token is backed 1:1 by BTC, can be redeemed for Bitcoin, and can be transferred to supported IBC-compatible and EVM networks. Nomic’s official documentation lists deployed Ethereum mainnet bridge and token contracts.
