Project RAIN 1.0 was a Riwe Technologies climate-resilience initiative implemented with AGRA in Agasha, Benue State, from August 2024 to March 2025. It provided smallholder farmers with satellite- and AI-enabled parametric weather insurance that automatically triggered payouts for floods or droughts, along with location-specific climate insights and sustainable-farming training in local dialects.Category: Offchain Insurance

Project RAIN - V2 with UNDP is an in-progress RAIN (Resilience through Affordable and Inclusive Weather Insurance) programme in Benue State and Kaduna, in Nigeria's Middle Belt and Northern region. It delivers parametric climate insurance, real-time weather alerts, and paperwork-free input loans for smallholder farmers through a unified platform that works on basic mobile phones without internet access.
